Global Outreach

"Go Into All the World"

At SPC, following Jesus into the world literally means that we want to serve Christ anywhere and everywhere we can across the globe. For some this will mean getting on an airplane and traveling outside the country. For others this will mean knitting hats to send to kids that need them. In all of these ways we are joining in Christ's work in our world.

All are welcome to join this knitting group which meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 1-3pm in the Sanctuary Hall. Together, we knit items that are donated to World Vision who distribute them to people in need around the world. No experience necessary. Patterns are provided; please bring your own supplies. HCP is a non-profit organization founded to serve as a catalyst for positive change in this community that is marked by poverty, alcoholism, crime and a high incidence of HIV/AIDS. Through a partnership with our congregation, HCP has built a Life Center and is currently building a soccer field to create community where people can come together for learning, growing and sports activities. Ubuntu Creche

SPC members, Rob and Jan Mathis, are missionaries serving South Africa. Jan oversees Ubuntu Crèche (small preschool, daycare center and elementary school preparation school) in the Riverview Settlement outside Citrusdal, South Africa. Rob is a member of the H.U.G. board. SPC is partnering with the Mathis’ by providing supplies and equipment as they serve in this rural community. To follow the work of the Mathis', visit Support Ubuntu on Facebook.

SPC began its partnership with the people of Mahlalini, Swaziland in 2009 and to date, we are supporting over 250 children. Sponsorship allows for a deep bonding experience as your HopeChild grows up, offering the security of financial support until s/he turns 18…

The first Sunday of each month, SPC offers community letter writing events. Just stay after church for a few minutes on these Sundays. All the supplies are available for you to write a letter to your sponsor-child and we will do the mailing for you!
