What to Expect

Worship Time

At Sammamish Presbyterian Church you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From the moment you walk up to the building you can expect…

We worship together each Sunday at 10am. Childcare is available during the service. Elementary aged kids attend service with their family and are dismissed prior to the sermon to attend JAMCity. During the school year, Middle School meets in The Box and Senior High meets in Sanctuary Hall and then moves the newly renovated Building E. We also offer Adult Education opportunities at 8:30am on Sunday mornings.

Advent and Christmas at SPC

During the holiday season, we offer a variety of special worship opportunities, culminating with five services on Christmas Eve.

Behold the Lamb of God - Sunday, December 15, 10:00amBehold the Lamb of God
Come hear the true tall tale of the coming Christ as told through Andrew Peterson's Behold The Lamb Of God. This unique twist on Jesus' birth narrative is sure to put your heart & mind in the right place as Christmas approaches.

The Longest Night Service - Thursday, December 19, 7:00pm
Longest NightThis service is an ancient tradition, meant to give space for the darkness of our losses and grief. At this time of year especially, when our culture insists on “festivities, family and food,” many of us feel trapped behind masks of cheer. The liturgy and music of this service are designed to authentically acknowledge the brokenness in our lives and our selves – a communal calling out to God.

Christmas Eve - Tuesday, December 24
Joy to the World3:00 & 4:30pm - Family Services
7:30 & 9:00pm- Choir, Carols & Candlelight
10:30pm - Carols, Candlelight & Communion

Directions to SPC

A Warm Greeting

Greeters will meet you at the entrance to welcome you to SPC, and answer any questions you may have (or point you to the person who will be best able to assist you). Our greeters are here to help you get settled and comfortable.

Once you walk into the Sanctuary, ushers will offer you a worship bulletin, and help you find a seat, if needed. If the service hasn't yet begun, the ushers can introduce you to a pastor, if you'd like.

Hot Coffee and Get Connected

Just to your right, as you enter the main doors to the church, fresh, hot coffee is available for your enjoyment. Just beyond the coffee area, near the entrance of the Sanctuary, is our Get Connected table. After each service, volunteers man this area to answer any questions you might have, provide printed collateral for you to take, and give each first-time visitor an SPC mug with a coupon to have coffee with a pastor at your convenience.

Worship

On Sunday mornings, SPC strives to create a worship experience that is welcoming to all:

  • Musical instrumentation is contemporary/modern (piano, guitar, bass, drums are typical).
  • Both traditional hymns and more recent Christian songs are sung.
  • Dress is “casual”, much like many work places.
  • Visitors are welcomed from the pulpit, but are not asked to identify themselves publicly. (No “raise your hand if you’re new!”)
  • The first half of the service includes singing, prayers, and announcements; the second half includes the message or sermon and closing songs.

Details about upcoming special services (Christmas, Easter, etc.) can be found on the worship calendar or the Events page.

Sunday Classes

SPC offers Sunday morning classes and/or childcare for ages infant through 12th grade, and periodic Adult Ministry classes. For more detailed class information, visit:

A map of classrooms may be viewed here. Of course, families are always welcome to worship together during the service. Our quiet room with a view to the Sanctuary and audio feed is available if you need to comfort a small child.
