Eloquent Grief

Grief is a universal emotion. To lose something that one cherishes--a loved one, an ability, an opportunity, a sense of well-being--forces us to face our losses and question who we are, why it happened, and who the God is that allowed it to be. Because of that, grief can be the seedbed for spiritual formation, if we are willing to look it in the face.

We are fortunate that in the Old Testament, there is an ancient and elegant story of grief--the book of Job. In this series, we will take a look at Job's story and compare it to our own. As we face a world filled with mass shootings, heightened hatred, fear and longing for something better, we will see that our story is not new, and that God has a story to tell in us in the grieving places of our lives.
