    Luke 1:26-38

    Romans 16:25-27

    1. "Too good to be true." When have you ever had that experience? What tipped you off?

    2. "Greetings, favored one!" What do you think it was about Mary that made the Angel approach her and not the thousands of other young Jewish women in the day?

    3. "The Lord is with you." This was maybe the most shocking thing Mary had ever heard. Nothing about her circumstances, background or future prospects would lend her to believe this was true, more than in just a general sense. What keeps you from believing that the Lord is with you? What helps you recognize his presence with you the most?
    4. In what area of your life do you need to believe that nothing is impossible with God? What keeps you from believing this?

    5. In this passage, we are being invited to act like both Gabriel and Mary--as those who both proclaim and receive God's favor and presence. What are some ways you can act like both (Gabriel and Mary) this Advent?
