John 9: Sight and Blindness
- Have you or someone close to you ever had an experience of temporary blindness from an operation, an allergic reaction or some other cause? What was it like? What emotions and actions surfaced as a result? (If no one has had this happen, imagine together what you might feel/think/experience)
- What kinds of things have occurred in your life to radically alter your perspective? That is to say, what is it that causes/helps us to move from a kind of blindness to something…to seeing it much clearer?
- Our culture is constantly beating the drum of achievement and busyness, finding our worth in filling our calendars, and telling us “more is better.” What might it look like to “reduce” your life, to a simpler and more restful reality? Does this feel possible or impossible? Talk together about one way you could prioritize God’s word, and reduce the swelling of more in your lives. How can you help one another stay accountable in small or big ways?
