Follow Along with the Message

  1. The Kingdom of God as Jesus talks about it and models feels very disruptive. The heavens being torn open, 40 days of temptation in the wilderness, the arrest of a good friend, and the call to proclaim the Good News. When you think about the Kingdom of God, do you think of it as disruptive? How does Jesus experience and modelling challenge your expectations? Is there such a thing as a “good disruption”?
  2. Jesus seems to always be looking to take the next faithful step (from baptism, to trial in the wilderness, to proclaiming repentance and good news). Those steps are messy and sometimes abrupt, yet faithful. What can we learn from Jesus example?
  3. This past year has been a disruptive time (to say the least). What can we learn about the Kingdom of God in times of disruption? What is something YOU have learned during this time that brings you closer to the Lord of disruption?
  4. As we enter the season of Lent, we are setting our sights towards the cross and eventually the empty tomb of Christ—the ultimate disruptive event. If you are honest with yourself, what in you needs the most disruption this Lent? What might you do this week to experience that holy disruption?
