Care

About Our Care Ministry

As a church community, we believe God calls us to love one another and walk with one another through all of life's seasons. If you are going through a difficult time and need encouragement, resources, prayer and/or the presence of a caring person, we encourage you to seek support from one of our many Care Ministries (all inquiries are confidential).

Care Ministries

DEACON MINISTRY

deacons@spconline.org

At some point in our lives, we will need the encouragement, resourcefulness, and presence of a Deacon as we navigate areas of struggle, transition, or heartache. The gift of having a church family is that we support, pray, and care for one another. Whatever your need, we encourage you to contact the Deacons at SPC who are trained and dedicated to provide you with resources, prayer, and encouragement; simply email us.

When is a good time to contact a Deacon?

  • Your family is in transition
  • Something has happened to someone you love.
  • A neighbor is in trouble
  • God seems far away and your spiritual life seems empty.
  • Your “nest” is empty and you’re looking for a new challenge.
  • You’ve received a scary diagnosis
  • A relationship seems to be going sideways
STEPHEN MINISTRY

stephenministry@spconline.org

We all go through times in our life when we could benefit from a little extra care and attention. Stephen Ministers are trained to walk alongside us, providing confidential, one-to-one, Christian care to people who are going through a difficult time, including weekly support for you as long as your need persists.

Stephen Ministers offer a safe, accepting place where you can express and pray for your particular situation. These might include:

  • Loss of a loved one
  • Unemployment
  • Terminal illness
  • Spiritual crisis
  • Work stress
  • Family crisis
  • Childbirth
  • Hospitalization

If you would like to find out more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know, you may confidentially email us

SHARE MINISTRY

share@spconline.org

The SHARE ministry works in conjunction with the Deacon ministry to provide short-term care to those in our congregation who are going through a life transition or challenging time. SHARE consists of a large group of SPC volunteers who take turns providing support, such as home-cooked meals, transportation, childcare or running errands. Being a part of SHARE provides a wonderful opportunity for our church family to care for one another as we walk through all of life’s seasons.

If you are in need of care from our SHARE Ministry, please email the deacons.

Financial Aid

If you are experiencing a difficult time financially and find yourself in need of support for food or other necessities, please seek the support of your church family. As a community of faith, we believe it is important for us to draw together and support one another during seasons of transition, hardship and financial stress. SPC seeks to support our congregation and community as much as we can. Please email us (all requests are confidential) to receive information about community resources, financial support from our Benevolent Fund or for prayer.

“Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And, the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Matthew 22:37-39
