Love that Confronts Oppression

January 19, 2025

1. If worship is the act of ascribing ultimate value to something in a way that engages your entire being (Tim Keller), what are some of the things our culture worships?

2. We are made for worship, and worship is our best antidote to trials, challenges and difficulty. What are some ways we can engage in worship outside of Sunday morning. What might this look like on a daily basis?

3. "In those days the church was not merely a thermometer that recorded the ideas and principles of popular opinion; it was a thermostat that transformed the mores of society." (Martin Luther King, Jr) We looked at this quote as part of our prayer of confession. How do you see SPC in this light: thermometer or thermostat? What would be required for us to be more of a thermostat in Sammamish? What would that look like?
